a badge of gold, with which I dare
to challenge you to aim so high...
Your life will be where Eagles fly.
Ten Thousand strong, the boys and men
stand up for Scouting, salute, and then....
hark to the tale of one who knows,
as onward, upward, Scouting Grows."

This is one of my favorite parts of my website. I am an Eagle Scout of Troop 906, which is sponsored by the First United Methodist Church of Valparaiso, Indiana, but I'm currently going to school in Indianapolis. I am too far from home to stay real active in Troop 906 on a regular basis, so I find other wayst to stay involved in the scouting and community service arenas. I'm a member of the University of Indianapolis' Circle K chapter, and am looking to reestablish a chapter of Alpha Phi Omega. I also maintain contact with my troop, and am registered as an Assistant Scoutmaster, making sure to attend meetings when I am home. I maintain communications with and participate as often as I can in activities of the Sakima Lodge, Order of the Arrow, in which I am a Brotherhood member. I have also put together a Scouting discussion board/mailing list on CollegeClub.com, entitled The Scouting Scroll (the link can be found below, if you want to check it out). To all my fellow OA brothers, best wishes, and remember the other WWW which we live by...and to all the scouts, scouters, and volunteers out there, keep up the good work, and keep hiking on that Trail to Eagle!
Yours in Scouting,
Matthew B. Byerly
